My industry doesn't feel that great. Everything about the last 2 years felt like 2006 and 2007... So far this year feels like 2008..

What are you guys feeling out there??

It is going to get worse in my opinion.

The markets look forward several months so the future is not really starting to look so good.

China is a mess

European stock have been selling off

US stocks have been selling off since the new year

Oil is tanking (supply vs demand) demand is down as demand is declining

The fed have taken their foot off the accelerator and are going to raise rates at least 3 more times this year

We have 19 trillion dollars of debt and growing

The Democrats are going to loose the election and as it becomes more apparent they are going to derail things as much as possible to inflict as much pain as possible to the American people

Then their is the whole middle east which is a disaster

I have been in cash preservation for awhile now.

Just my 2 cents. Sincerely Vic

Continuing with the above theme, I pulled out. :monkeyleft:

In all seriousness, I have made a decent amount through the market, but as many here have noted, the market isn't healthy and I suspect we will see a crash in the near future. Watching the market in China only confirms my suspicions in my mind. The only investing I feel safe in right now is gold, land & cars (many might not feel the same way on investing in cars).

In Canada, Alberta has tanked. The Saudis pump straight from the ground, they are driving home the point, the investment bankers here are paralyzed and can't move money back into the sector, production isn't viable at the current price. Alberta is going to get killed, most in the industry believe it will take 10 years or more to recover from this, Canada will get dragged down with us, with so many layers of business unfriendly government both federally and provincially, it will be very ugly.

Those sitting liquid, the optics at least for real estate will be much more favourable. It will be an unprecedented buying opportunity for properties in the near future, there is blood in the streets but it's not flowing fast enough yet.

I have cash that I want to spend on all sorts of stuff when the time comes. A family member of mine bought thousands of acres of farmland in central Illinois during the great depression. It was the best investment he ever made. If shit hits the fan I hope to come out on top of it. I just hate to see hard working people who can't weather the storm get hit with a major blow. The next few years will be very interesting.

My opinion is that there are too many experts predicting a huge market crash for it to actually happen. Time will tell.

it definitely works that way on the upside, but the downside is usually a little more correct imo.

When oil bottoms at 23-25 the market will rally. I think we go 5-10% down. Apple earnings coming up will have a big impact on the market...

I can see 14,000-14,500 and then we pop.

YES!

I don't know enough about markets to fully comment but after the last crash people were advertising themselves as the guru that predicted the crash. Now people are saying it and whilst things are falling a lot are saying it to generate some creditability and worth to their opinions.

Shouting out the crash is coming is much like shouting that it will rain somewhere in the world tomorrow.

Oddly, In the trucking industry fuel is cheaper then it has been for years, but freight is down, tonnage is down. Truck sales are down.. Which is strange because with lower fuel costs, operating costs just got cut basically in half. Which means they can run 2 trucks for the same cost as 1 was just 6 months ago..

I am not thinking a complete crash, but it sure seems like we are going to have a slow year in trucking.

There are big layoffs at all the truck manufacturing plants as well.

Not all bubbles burst, sometimes they just inflate and inflate and then stop inflating. Others pop. Generally, the time to watch for a crash seems to be when the whole economy seems to be doing just great, the experts are saying that we are in a really wonderful position historically, etc...that was how it was pre-2000 Dot Com bubble burst and pre-2008 crash. And I believe pre-1987 crash and pre-1929 crash.

I have zero interest in the markets, never bought and I am quite sure never will, it's quite frustrating and depressing, at the same time, to read or watch on TV the daily doom and gloom, what ifs and all sort of predictions by every "expert" and doomsday preppers about the incoming disasters.

I am ready to buy when others will start panicking and have to sell, things are still ridiculously expensive here, too expensive, there aren't any bargains around anymore, so just playing the waiting game, which is what frustrates me.
