David@SPE Report post Posted February 22, 2014 As you all know our good friend and customer, Ray Hofman, past away earlier this week. Making these types of thread is certainly not an enjoyable task. But with all the photos I've compiled of Ray and his collections over the years, I hope we can all smile and say how much of a badass he was instead of dwell upon it. Ray was a very well successful man who conquered all things at the young age of 38. He was courageous, generous, fearless, hard working, adventurous, convivial, determined, dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic, loyal, passionate, powerful, versatile; The list can go on forever. The average person may think 100mph is crazy fast. For Hofman, that's like cruising in a parking lot. It takes a real man to perform a 266.9mph standing mile, and an even greater man to say "F*** this, this is boring. Let's take flying lessons and fly 300+mph in the air". That is what Ray went out to do and was great at it. What a guy. Rest in peace, Raymond! I hope you all enjoyed the heavy content. We'll miss you, Buddy! - SP Engineering Family

FEVIPER Report post Posted February 24, 2014 Great thread. Thanks for putting it together. There are very few people that leave this world better than they found it. Ray is one of those people. I will be attending my friends funeral tomorrow in one of the largest churches in the area. I totally expect it to be standing room only. There are people flying in from all over the country to pay their respects. If you have never met a "Humble" rock star. Than you have never met Ray Hofman. That is the best way to describe him. I'll see you soon buddy!

Chimay52 Report post Posted February 25, 2014 It's still numbing to even think that a person who (by all accounts) was such a wonderful person is no longer here. The craziest thing to me about all those pictures was that my initial thought when I saw him and Leno was "wow, Jay Leno was very lucky to have met Ray".... SkylineRacer13 Report post Posted February 25, 2014 Sad to hear. Never met him but knew of him from various forums. RIP
