capt_chaos Report post Posted November 13, 2011 So for those that don't know. Why occupy Oakland? I thought it was a shit hole? Why attack whole foods? Isn't that a supermarket?

Robster Craws Report post Posted November 13, 2011 So for those that don't know. Why occupy Oakland? I thought it was a shit hole? Why attack whole foods? Isn't that a supermarket? You answered it. Shit hole = shit people. Shit people = angry, frustrated, broke, unemployed, uneducated people. Combine all that and you get stupid people doing stupid things. joebiz Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Seems like the Tea Party was paying a pretty good penny for permits and special-use certificates to have rallies. I wonder if they are physically on the same property, and if so, do the Tea Party folks have a basis for a claim- of at least their permit fee back. Ah- I guess even a permit fee is probably only a couple hundred bucks or so. I have no problem with the occupy folks. I actually encourage the civil disobedience. Anybody that wants to argue that the relationship between banks and government is perfectly acceptable, just wants to argue. I see very limited positive results from this movement though: any political action that doesn't directly address the issue of the federal reserve, and the lending that goes on between the central banks, won't get at the core of problem. joebiz Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Heres a little headsup- If you take 25 hits with a hammer to a flimsy plastic wells fargo sign, and are unable to break it, anarchy, aka "survival of the fittest", is probably not the political ideology for you.... Just a thought.... RomanDad for the win. That's awesome. I suppose they'll get our attention when they start knocking out infrastructure. But that would require forethought, planning, dedication and decision making ability.
baazinakon Report post Posted November 14, 2011 So for those that don't know. Why occupy Oakland? I thought it was a shit hole? Why attack whole foods? Isn't that a supermarket? I think they attacked Whole Foods because Whole Foods asked that protesters keep their signs outside of the store. I believe I posted a picture of Whole Foods' sign and some vandalism a page or two back. In regards to the anarchy video; LMAO. I couldn't help but laugh at their lack of ability to destroy anything. The protesters failed to break a plastic fence, Whole Foods' windows, Well Fargo sign, etc., all using metal weapons. Also, at 3:30ish in the video I got a good laugh out of the black ninja, but have to commend him for being a member of the group trying to stop the destruction. The fact that the cops didn't come and help the owners of Whole Foods defend their business is beyond frustrating. The owners should have reached out to one of the local gangs and offered $5k to come protect the premises and I think Occupy Oakland/Anarchy Oakland would have been over. Chimay52 Report post Posted November 14, 2011 They sure did a number on that white picket fence. Oh sure, they didn't actually break it, but they certainly scuffed up the paint a little bit. Now it's going to have to be touched up and everything with some new paint. These people mean business.....

NRG x Lambo Report post Posted November 14, 2011 Everybody’s been too damn polite about this nonsense: “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America. This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. Maybe, between bouts of self-pity and all the other tasty tidbits of narcissism you’ve been served up in your sheltered, comfy little worlds, you’ve heard terms like al-Qaeda and Islamicism. And this enemy of mine — not of yours, apparently - must be getting a dark chuckle, if not an outright horselaugh - out of your vain, childish, self-destructive spectacle. In the name of decency, go home to your parents, you losers. emanon Report post Posted November 18, 2011 Couple excerpts from an email my mom sent me earlier today. She works at a law firm in downtown LA, right off Hope St. They apparently are not fcuking around with these crazy people. Hiring in private security to protect employees with the instructions to do what you have to do, just make sure our people are safe. From what I gather it was stated in not so many words that many big businesses downtown are not going to tolerate their employees being intimidated and will handle things their own way. Those of you who have been outside in the last half hour (or who are watching out your windows) have seen the large number of police, some in riot gear, surrounding the BofA building, lined up in front of ours and generally patrolling the area. To the extent you can avoid being outside, and especially on the Hope Street side of our building, that would be advisable. We’d prefer you be safe and out of the way of the festivities. While it’s peaceful for now, we’ve all seen the news over the last few weeks and it doesn’t take much for the tone of these demonstrations to change quickly. Many thanks. http://fieldnotes.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011...arch-nationwide Note: The Firm has hired private security to escort us away from the building and arranged other transportation home if we don’t want to drive our cars out. We might be working from home for a couple days if this carries on. Will try to send you guys some pictures from an office window on that side of the building. Robster Craws Report post Posted November 19, 2011 What the video doesn't show, as usual, is what happened prior to the spraying. I'm guessing the protestors were warned SEVERAL times to move and that they would be pepper sprayed if they didn't move. They video conveniently starts when the officer is about to start spraying. They got what they asked for.
