I loved my 99 Viper GTS and regret selling it. I loved the G55 but hated the punishing ride. I admit to having grown weary of older cars and their issues. I love that there are some frickin great newer cars to buy and enjoy

No cars are giving me the "butterflies in your stomach" sensation anymore and that's extremely sad, I think for me to be exciting it has to be hard to get or unattainable, it has to be a challenge, I live in a place where all hypercars are off the menu, some of them I'd enjoy chasing and acquiring so perhaps the excitement would return.

 

I have very little interest in owning old cars, nice to look at but I can't be bothered dealing with what comes with them also I've become very practical so rather then basing my purchasing on emotions I based it on practicality and that sucks the fun out of it because it's simply like purchasing another tool.

 

So to recap it, purchasing the Huracan doesn't give me as much excitement as purchasing my first ever car did, a shitty old Fiesta, or even the few cars which came immediately after, I can't think of a car at this point in time which would make me excited to buy...

It has and will always be mine also. I've looked at/driven a couple of the newer Vipers, and yes they will bite you if you are careless...They just don't feel as "raw" as my 97. Just my thoughts.

I don't like the Countach. But it still has great road presence, even today.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. I drove a 2011 G55 and that thing SUCKED. No idea why people like G wagons. Maybe the new ones are nicer? The inside looked like a 2005.

I drove a friend's 06, you know how it is, you always feel different driving your own car. Might have all been in my head...lol.

 

 

I also had a 92 Stealth TT AWD. It had EVERY aftermarket part that was made back then on it. That was when HKS, Greddy were really coming on the scene....

 

I had a lot of good times hurting the local Mustang/Camaro boys feelings (they always wanted to go from a stop)...lol.

It isn't uncommon for the 97-99 cars to do 410hp & 460 ft/lbs to the tires completely bone stock. Can you say under rated from thefactory.

 

Headers, smooth tubes, and rockers will get it up around 475 to the tires.

Paganis are not true exotics because of the use of basically "off the shelf" AMG engines. A proper exotic company makes their own engines in house or at least commisions the manufacture of them exclusively for themsleves IMO.

A premium color combo! If you find a clean one don't pass it up, they are getting harder to find.

 

Blue/white was only 96 and 97, and they are slightly different. Shoot me or white out a PM if you need any viper info.

I'll be in the minority but I've never been a fan of the countach. I look at it now and I just can't find a way to like it. Bannable, I know!

 

Hate the g wagons with a passion. Never enjoyed looking at them.

 

Would take an 08 white SL over probably most cars if given to me.

Viper is a great car.

 

Only complaint is the engine sound, at least stock. Is there anything you can do to make it at least decent?

 

Also, is the Gen 3's extra .4 liters of authority enough to offset it's extra refinement?

Yeah, headers and exhaust drastically changes the sound.

 

The displacement change is minimal to the overall feel of the car. The gen 3 heads and intake are actually part of what softens it up a bit, moving the power band up a bit in the rpm range.

 

A g3 will always look lame next to a gts. You can't fix that.
