Assman Report post Posted June 26, 2016 I saw this last night. Mike died doing what he loved and died exactly how one would have expected. He was the most solid guy. At 53 he was still too young for us to lose. A few years back a nurse I knew has a son who was was graduating from college and wanted an internship w Nike but couldn't get a foot in the door. I knew he was a good student from a good family. I called Mike and THE NEXT DAY Nike recruiting was interviewing the kid. This was the love of Mike. He was also an alpine rescuer and saved several people off of Mt. Hood. He was part of the famous rescue where the heli got flipped over and the rotor almost dismembered him. He will be greatly missed.

Each time we got together I don't think I've known a more genuine, interesting, kind, loving friend. He was the James Bond of Portland. I'm glad so many of us got to know him and experience his friendship, even If it was for a short time
