RIP Ray and prayers for your family. Was an absolute pleasure to have worked with you on a couple of projects. Life is far too short....

no news on google .. very strange. no info on plane crash

Iv been searching too... Nobody dislikes flying as much as myself. With the fact that this happen to a well known car guy and a genuinely really cool dude is very disturbing... Hoping nothing happened to his family

From my Luxury 4 Play thread...

Info from "MX304"

Single seat airplane. Stewart Dawson was flying chase in another aircraft. That airplane was owned by Howard Pardue for many, many years until Howard was killed in his Bearcat a couple of years ago. It was meticulously maintained by Nelson Ezell's shop which is one of, if not the, warbird restoration and maintenance facilities in the US. I had spoken with Howard's daughter just a few days ago and while sad to see her Dad's airplane leave the family after so many years, she knew Ray would be a great person to carry on with it. My heart goes out to the Pardue family, Nelson and his crew and Stu. They must be absolutely gutted.

As someone who has recently been doing a lot of prop design work, that is an astonishingly beautiful aircraft. I think we all can say Ray was a true enthusiast that will be missed forever. Unbelievable news

So sad to hear. Everything I knew about him was something of a living legend.

RIP.

He built my car originally and spoke a little to him but I do feel a connection to his passion for life.
