Aventador SV-J Discussion and New Information

I would say Paris Motor Show this fall is more likely. Unless they pull out or present a new one-off concept car, then it will be at Geneva 2019.

Paris is historically used by Lamborghini as a concept car/special edition show. SVJ is kind of a big deal.

JOTA is a big deal

There is a lighter DCT transmission hope they make it work. Leave nav beveled glass pork exhaust and everything else off - stiffen springs add downforce bespoke tires like McLaren Senna with CF wheels - beat the 2RS 6:47. Track focussed harsh track ride - like the GT3RS.2

We are seeing track focus cars at the end of model runs that are more reflective of a race set up than street.

Love it, a racing Aventador for the street. This is the metaphorical 12” porn cock. Aside from bragging about it what are you going to do with it in the real world besides hate it?

The car is HUGE and weighs 4000 pounds. It is a sporty cruiser with a shameful transmission. The car would be ten times better with a DCT and ten times worse with racing suspension. Square peg, round hole.

Some of us don't mind being the square peg in a world of round holes...

This will be the last naturally aspirated V12 before Lamborghini goes hybrid. It will be produced in (hopefully extremely) limited numbers and gears will begin turning on orders by the end of 2018. There will be a coupe and roadster version, we will see unveilings of them sometime this year is what I've been told.

Every drools over DCT's but honestly the single clutch feels way better all day. I'm glad Lambo bucked the trend with NA, V12, and single clutch.

Im with you totally, DCT is way too tame...nothing like the ISR in Corsa mode, every time a thrill, DCT not so much

Not it doesn’t, it ruins the car, they didn’t buck the trend it’s a compromise which for whatever reason they had to run with, they can tune the DCT to slap you over the head just like the single clutch (used to) because they dialed that out, other than that violent jolt which is gone in Corsa I see no other advantages provided by the single clutch, maybe some weight reduction but the car is HEAVY regardless so a bit more weight makes no difference.

In all honesty if this car had a DCT it would be the best, relatively mass produced, sports car your money can buy. It looks insanely exotic, it’s uncompromising and cheap for the package you get, dynamically the single clutch sends it back to the 90’s.

Let’s just wait and see what happens when Lambo dumps a DCT behind that NA V12. Not long to go now. 🙏🙏🙏

I feel the ISR transmission gets no love...as a technical achievement, it's crazy impressive. It's almost as fast in shifting as a DCT (.2 milliseconds slower) and it's lighter. Yes the Aventador is a heavy car, but the single clutch gives the car that signature supercar feel. No offense to the Huracan, but compared to the single clutch the Huracan feels a bit tamer and it feel closer in relation to a 458 Italia, 570S, and just about every other DCT car out there...from a shifting and power transfer stand point.

I love how we agree on 98.24% of things, yet when it comes to the DCT vs ISR and the Dione wheels vs the Diantus wheels...lines are drawn :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

But that's what makes the car world great, different seats for different drivers.

A little birdie told me that the SV Jota will make an appearance at Monterey car week...

Time to ping my Italian birdie...

I know these are the things we will never agree on, small disagreements are the signs of a healthy relationship :icon_thumleft:

The single clutch it’s ok for a short while then it becomes tedious and annoying, for me anyway.

:iamwithstupid: DCT has proven itself to be much quicker through the gears. in corsa my perf snaps my neck back from 1st to 2nd to 3rd gear. still feels fcuking awesome and violent!

cant wait to see the SVJ in Cali this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I TOTALLY agree with you on this. Give me ISR for the feels... everyday.

Bless your soul--I heard something similar too but need to see if I can get it from a more reliable source.

Very true--this would explain the performance of the Huracan up to about 100-120 mph or so. It is neck and neck with the Aventador but then the Avy just walks the Huracan after that.

918 3700 lb.s let's see where the JOTA track focus comes in.

Racing suspension isn't for everyone - square pegs round hole can not imagine a better end to the Aventador as if the Aventador in of itself makes sense.

Quail bound - SV-N-IT where you at the Miami Performante viewing.

SV 7 min - JOTA Performante package even better tires watch for a shocking ring time.

In the place connected to a restaurant - we went to the late afternoon on Saturday.

Hoping the same crew from Lamborghini is there - our regional doesn't share the good stuff.

Prefer not to go to the factory to spec. After what happened with the Veneno and the coupe owners being upset with the roadster coming later wonder how many roadster vs coupes. For the first time considering a coupe

There will be 185 made. All dealers got to choose one pre-made spec, (set interior and exterior) with most dealers only getting to order one or two customer specced cars. I got my allocation today, beyond stoked. Will be doing Blu Nethuns.

Congrats was 1hr behind delivering my deposit check - got the #2 spot.

Any idea msrp coupes vs roadsters of the 185 - there are over 150 dealers not looking good shocked only 20 - 30 dealers will get 2.

Good news for the SV - should do well given the limited JOTA.

Is that production number for North America? I doubt that’s world wide, every info I’ve been getting points to a greater production number than the current SV, it could be that the dealers are trying to hype it but I doubt it.

Right on, congrats! I was told MSRP on the coupe is $585k, they weren't sure on the roadster. To be honest I think the coupe is the better call here given how performance driven it is even though I absolutely the roadsters.

I wondered that as well but was told 185 worldwide. I can't imagine this is something dealers would purposely mislead buyers on as a higher volume would cause some folks to pass. 185 is a strange number at first but since there are supposedly 186 Murcielago SVs maybe it's their way of making it more rare than the last king of the v12s? If 185 worldwide really is true this car is going to be super special, especially if you can get ad personam vs one of the factory specs. Honestly can't wait.

Logically Price seems too low to me if that is the amount made as it is very low, they could charge more.

Also manufacturers don’t usually provide demos or pre spec to dealer on very limited cars so this seems pretty unusual as they will 100% all be sold if there is only 185, the pre spec per dealer would be a massive % of the cars produced. Seems bonkers unless there is no options and it is just a colour choice on it, they would have missed a trick then as most cars will be ad Persenam at this level.
